We are aware of an issue wherein the G Merge Plus add-on does not load for newly created Google Sheets. This does not affect those sheets where the add-on was successfully run prior to today. Active campaigns should still work fine. This is a known issue on Google's end and we're waiting for a fix to be issued.

We've identified a bug where merging URLs using the Document Merge function returns the following error.

The resulting document has the correct tag substitution but we're working on a fix to make sure the error message does not appear. The ETA for this is 29 July, 2020. In the meantime, here's a guide when working with hyperlinked text: Is there a way to embed a link to text in Document Merge?

We've identified a bug for Mail Merge campaigns. The G Merge Status remains blank when a row contains a protected cell under the "Email Tracking Status" technical column. However, emails are still sent out for these affected rows. Since G Merge Plus looks for "Done" under the G Merge Status technical column, subsequent campaign runs would reprocess these affected rows and send out emails.

The recommended workaround is for the Google Sheet owner to remove protection for the cells. The G Merge Status for the affected rows can be manually marked "Done" so the add-on would not reprocess them. We've endorsed this to our devs so we can issue a permanent fix.

There is currently an issue with UI/UX on the billing page if your payment has failed. To enter a new card please press Account in the top left hand corner. This will refresh the page and allow you to enter / change card details.

Changing the category of an email template via the web app (https://app.gmergeplus.com/template) removes the template from the list. We're currently investigating the issue. For now, please don't change the template category for your email templates.

The script behind G Merge Plus currently can't detect the page color set in Google Doc templates. Any color set other than the default would not be copied to the merged document.

1. Number lists are being converted to a bullet list in a generated document. This is happening when using the automatic numbering from the Google Doc menu in a Google document table.

We are currently searching for a solution to solve this issue.

As a workaround please type in number lists manually, ensuring the automatic Numbered list (as above) is not activated.

2. "Global error while processing" message shows up in the Summary Report when the Google Doc template has a footnote.

We are aware of this issue and currently working on a solution.

As a workaround, footnotes would need to be removed for the merge to work. Notes can be typed in manually.

01 February, 2020 - Fixed in Version 10  G Merge Plus Release Notes

Generating documents on scheduled campaign "Every hour" "In an hour" and Custom times and dates returns error Done File not created. We are currently investigating the root cause of this and expect to release a fix early next week. To re-process rows that have this error message, please delete Done File not created in the G Merge Plus status column and press GENERATE.

Please note that by default G Merge Plus will process all rows that do not contain Done. To filter out other rows, please go to G Merge Plus setting menu. More information in the following article: Can I generate a merge for certain rows and not for others?

31 Jan, 2020 - Fixed in Version 9: G Merge Plus Release Notes

We are currently investigating an issue with spreadsheet templates. When you use a spreadsheet template a document is generated correctly under the column Document URL on your G Merge Plus spreadsheet. If you choose to send this generated document to a recipient via the Mail Merge section as a PDF attachment the recipient will only receive a copy of the template. 

Note that this is only affecting spreadsheet template. Document templates are not affected

27 Jan, 2020 - Fixed in Version 8: G Merge Plus Release Notes

Our developers are currently investigating an issue where documents are not being generated. Error message: Done File not created. 

As a workaround, please:

1. Create a new Google Doc template (not the "Make a copy" option)
2. Manually copy over the contents of the original template
3. Run G Merge Plus and set the Google Doc created in Step 1 as the template
4. Setup campaign settings and run some test merges

Please do not add footers and headers on the new document template as this appears to create the error Done File not created.

1/ Document Generation getting error 'File not created'.

As a workaround, check then uncheck the box "Different first page' in the footer of your document template. Further instructions in point 2/ in the following article:

2/ Images are currently not merged unless they are "Inline" . If they are in a table it will not merge.

As a workaround, please insert a Drawing. From your spreadsheet menu:

• Click Insert
• Click Drawing
• Click + New
• Insert your image inside the editor
• Save & Close
